Is This A Racist App?
Two tech developers name Allison McGuire and Daniel Herrington have created an an iPhone app which will be also be soon available Android, called SketchFactor which is an app to avoid dangerous neighborhoods.
But the app is being accused of being racist because it was created by two white people. Allison MCguire has released a statement the app is not just for white people.
"And even though Dan and I are admittedly both young, white people, the app is not built for us as young, white people. As far as we’re concerned, racial profiling is ‘sketchy’ and we are trying to empower users to report incidents of racism against them and define their own experience of the streets.”
The company SketchFactor also responded to the racist complaints.
