Teen Boy's Donation Rejected
A deceased teen boy's organ was rejected by FDA all because he was gay. AJ Betts, who was from Iowa volunteered to become and organ donor and few months before he committed suicide.
Advocate.com reports that all of his other organs such as liver, lungs, heart and kidneys have been accepted by not his eyes.
His mothers says
"My initial feeling was just very angry because I couldn't understand why my 16-year-old son's eyes couldn't be donated just because he was gay,”
“This is archaic, and it is just silly that people wouldn't get the lifesaving assistance they need because of regulations that are 30 years old,”
