Soap Star Nancy Lee Grahan Gets Slammed For Her Comments About Viola Davis Winning An Emmy

Soap Star Gets Slammed On Twitter

'General Hospital' star Nancy Lee Grahan was caught in twitter drama last night during the Emmy awards when actress Viola Davis became the first black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series for her hit show 'How To Get Away With Murder'

Apparently she did not liked Viola Davis' powerful speech tweeting "I wish I loved Viola Davis' speech, but I thought she should have let Shonda Rhimes write it"

She was then attacked on twitter for her tweet. She then backtracked in a series of tweets and then apologized

 Video:

"I apologize for my earlier tweets and now realize I need to check my own privilege. My intention was not to take this historic and important moment from Viola Davis or other women of color but I realize that my intention doesn't matter here because that is what I ended up doing. I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don't understand but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me"
