10th Anniversary Of An Epic Album

I'm doing a special review one of the best R&B albums. Aaliyah's third and final album "Aaliyah" which came 10 years ago. The album was released a month prior to the singer's death and is her most successful album of the 3 she released. Most of the album was completed by late 1999/early 2000 and was recorded while she filmed her last film 'Queen of the Damned'. The album was worked on for months in America, Europe and Australia. 

The album spawned 4 US singles. Aaliyah only lives to see the release of 2, which were 'We Need A Resolution' and 'Rock The Boat'. The first singles was announced to be 'Loose Rap' but was later changed to 'We Need A Resolution' for unknown reasons. After her death, the album went straight to #1. The album is the highest sales increase in history, with an 800% increase the week of her death. It's also has  longest stay on the Billboard 200 in history with 188 weeks (Later broken by Taylor Swift with 189 Weeks) ans its the Winner of 8 awards, including an American Music Awards for 'Best R&B/Soul Album Of The Year' in 2002.

Bad Teacher

So over the weekend, I went to go see "Bad Teacher" starring Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake. All I can say is it's one of the funniest movies that I've seen in while. Cameron Diaz should play more roles like this, it really suits her.  However, Justin Timberlake did terrible. I never thought he was a good actor. He should stick to music.

This movie was kinda like a parody of all those school movies.

Album Review

I also bought JLO's new album as well at FYE during my trip to Miami. In my opinion, it's not one of her best albums. It's mediocre at it's best. There are a few good dance tracks aon the album like "Papi" (  I hope that is the next single)

I felt like she should have put more work into this album. Most of the tracks are kinda generic.

Album Review

So, I finally bought Lady Gaga's new album at FYE during my trip to Miami last week. Here is my review on it. I still think the album cover is really weird. It reminds me of somthing from the movie Transformers but anyway "Hair" is my most favorite track from the album and I really hope it becomes the next single.

Overall it's a good pop album. There is also a deluxe version of the album that features bonus tracks, but I did not get that.

So I went to the movie last night to see "The Hangover 2" which already pulled in a record of 31 million. This is the best comesy film of 2011 .. so far. Now I have not see the first time but I am planning too now. I would reccommend to this movie is NOT for kids because they were a lot of nude scenes in the movie

This past weekend, I went to go see the new "Pirates Of The Carribean" movie which earned $90 million worldwide in its opening weekend. This movie felt like a  brand new movie since Orlando and Keira did not return to reprise their roles. Peneople Cruz joined the cast as Jack Sparroe's old fame name Angelica and on this installment there are more pirates and evil mermaids! They go on this quest to find the fountain of the youth. It and of course more funny scenes with Captain Jack Sparrow.

Review: Scream 4

If you are a true scream fan,then you will love Scream 4. I am giving my review on Scream 4. I went to go see this last night and it's one the best movies of 2011 so far. If you like horror movies with an unexpected twist and endings, then you should definitely go see Scream 4. This movie was well written and it had a really good plot. Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere who were the new additions to the Scream franchise did a really good gob as well the original actors, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. 

This movie also had a little comedy in it. It parodied itself with all those horror movie remakes. There was several cameos from several other actors such as Kristen Bell, Shenae Grimes ( Degrassi and 90210) and Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) As for a Scream 5, I'm not sure how they will top Scream 4. We'll see.

Review: Avril Lavigne- Goodbye Lullaby

Another album that I will be giving a review on is the new album from Canadian singer Avruil Lavigne  titled "Goodbye Lullaby" which came out weeks ago. This album is her most mature album to date. t and this album  has proven that she has grown up as an artist.  Her previous albums was more childish and inexperienced.  Goodbye Lullaby deals with a lot of heart ache. One trach that stood out to me was "Push" The song reminds me of Natalie Imbruglia's hit song "Torn"  Good job Avril Lavigne!

Review: Britney Spears- Femme Fatale

Today I will be giving my review on two albums that recently came out, One of them is Britney's new album "Femme Fatale". which came out  two days ago.  The album has had many mixed reviews. One thing I love about this album is that it had a new sound.. She really explored new beats with this album. The stand out tracks on this album in my personal opinion are "Gasoline", I Wanna Go" , "Trouble For  Me"  and ""Big Fat Bass" featuring Will. I .Am.

However, she has been criticized by many media outlets  for not putting enough effort into this album. Personally, I think it's one of her best albums since"In The Zone"

Movie Review: Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows

Last week, I went to see Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows. Here are my thoughts about the movie. This one was really intense. All of Harry's enemies hunt him down and Harry, Ron and Marnie go into hiding. There were some parts that were hilarious when all of them turned into Harry. Deathly Hollows is one of my all time favorite Harry Potter movies. Part 2 comes out in July in 3D

Danial Radcliffe said in an article that Part 2 will be more fast paced like a war movie. Interesting.
