Lindsay Lohan's Flippant Pre-Sentence Interview

Lindsay Lohan's Flippant Pre-Sentence Interview

Even if her black and white striped bikini was a nod to prison stripes, Lindsay Lohan betrayed no fear during a cover shoot and interview with Maxim magazine less than a week before she was sentenced to 90 days in Lynwood Detention Facility.

"I am feeling strong. I've experienced a lot in my life, and my mom has given me a lot of faith. This too shall pass," Lohan says in the September cover story of the men's magazine. As for her birthday wish (she turned 24 July 2), she says: "[My wish is] to focus on myself and my work, and to move all press on me to focus on the work I do."

That work includes shooting the Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno when she emerges from 90 days of court-mandated rehab in UCLA Medical Center following her 13 days in jail. "I don't really want to discuss anything until I am on set," she says of the upcoming film. "I need some secrets." She did however discuss her inspirations, in general: "Sex appeal and sensuality … without trying too hard. I feel that women have such power with their bodies alone."

As for the rocky road that led her to lockdown, from a February admission of cocaine addiction to allegedly being punched in the face while partying, Lohan chalked up the past 12 months to "another year in a lifetime of living and learning." Her motto? "Stay true to yourself always. At the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and be content with the choices you've made, and will make, in your life. Go with your gut!"
