Charleston Shooter Dylann Roof Was Charged With Drug Offense and Plotted A Mall Shooting

Tragedy once again strucks Charleston, North Carolina. A 21-year old man name Dylann Roof has now been captured and arrested for shooting nine people at a historical black church in Charleston.  Five of those people were ministers and three people survived the shooting.     

"Officials did not say Thursday whether the 21-year-old man arrested in the Charleston massacre was thought to be plotting an attack at the mall. But reports about Roof’s prior run-ins with law enforcement and photographs depicting his interest in racial segregation and the Confederacy offered a glimpse at a man who authorities said carried out a calculated attack on Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, igniting an FBI investigation that will examine the shooting as a hate crime."

More backstory on the shooter is now emerging. Apparently, Dylann Roof plotted a mall shooting. Post and Courier.com reports that he went to a mall and went from store to store asking disturbing questions. He was then banned for three years.  The site also says the church attack was most likely calculated.
MSN.com also reports that he was charged with a drug offense early this year.
