The Sheriff Involved In Sandra Bland's Death Was Fired For Mistreating Black People In 2007



Sheriff Was Fired For Racist Complaints


More is coming out about the Sheriff who is involved in the Sandra Bland case.
Sandra Bland was the woman was arrested last Friday for failing to turn on her blinker. Her arrest was caught on tape which h showed her head to the ground. Three days later this past Monday, was mysteriously found dead in her cell speculating she killed herself. She was also about to start in new job this week. 


Sheriff Gleen Smith, who is involved in her case was fired in 2007 for racist allegations. He mistreated black people during his time as chief police in Hempstead, Texas. 

 Dailykos.com reports that Gleen Smith was suspended for 'documented cases of racism' against black people. He was eventually fired when more racist complaints came in.

"Council members are reviewing video of four arrests and detentions over the past month. The officers and police chief, who are the targets of the complaints, are white. Some residents are calling for a third of the city's 15 person police force to be suspended, disciplined, or fired."
